~TIDES ~(LIVE CODING JAM SESSION)

Found this cool file while sorting my hard drive. We recorded the audio first—totally improvised and it turned out pretty nice! I later added visuals using a new patch I was testing, making them react to the audio frequencies.

The whole thing has this soothing quality I wasn’t expecting. No fancy pre-planning, just jamming and seeing what happened.

There’s this nice interplay between us throughout the jam—a certain understanding that just clicked that day. You can hear it in those little moments of give and take, how the sounds find each other without forcing anything.

Later, actually, a few weeks later,I had fun making the visuals dance with the sounds we created. The generative elements gradually blend with video content as the piece progresses, eventually dissolving into this glitchy crash server aesthetic, over the top of course by the end—like watching a system beautifully fall apart.

Throw this on, chill out, and enjoy TIDES. It’s a nice little snapshot of a moment we love.
